Open Hardware is a computer hardware that stores information which has been copyrighted and is now available for the public to use freely.
The main requirements for taking part is to:
-Give credit for the project to the owner
The main barrier that is preventing this movement from becoming "the norm" is:
-The Government: Because they may not like the idea of other people gaining a large amount of money, whilst they earn nothing from it. So this may cause the government to prevent Open hardware's from existing.

Obama and the media
Obama used Social Media to gather enough support to win the elections in 2008 and 2012. He achieved this by being able to understand that the social media is about relationships, therefore, using social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and others to establish a much direct connection with his followers.
Social media is very advantageous over traditional media (tv, radio and print) for spreading a message quickly because opinions are spread through direct interactions, where it is more personal and there is more trust. People are encouraged to vote by their friends, families or people they know.
Memes are ideas or symbols which spread rapidly. They can be very important because they are becoming a dominant cultural event.
Kony 2012 is an example where media has played an important role, since, through the use of only videos, blogs, campaigns and posters, an organisation called Invisible Children was able to get the USA involved in helping those children being kidnapped and some even forced to kill their parents and fight become free from Kony's arms.

Who you get in bed with- human rights, gay rights video
Marc3pax is a man who works for the government and acts to try and deliver a message to the world, which is not entirely true or reliable.
The video relates to the flotilla movement because the purpose of the video was to prove that Hamas, Palestinians and the Flotilla are bad. He is trying to shape an image that flotilla is a discriminating and violent movement.
The video is not objective because even though the man talking in the video is not showing his personal emotions explicitly in the video, we can see that he is actually trying to say that the flotilla group is homophobic, not showing us all sides of the story. The information shown and used cannot be proved to be reliable.
There isn't evidence supporting Marc3pax's findings. We don't know which group he contacted or which college he attended. We can't rely on this man's findings, because he is not giving us actual facts. We don't even know if the mail was real or actually sent. Which sources did he use to get the information from? Were did he find the images and the information regarding the Prime Minister?

Reflecting on an 'Everyday task'
Eating fruits, as part of my breakfast, forms part of my everyday tasks. Whilst eating this morning, I had lots of different fruits, however, one of them tasted bad. I consider it (eating fruits) to be something beneficial for my health and well-being since fruits provide vitamins and minerals; not bearing in mind the fact that they are also rich in flavour and very refreshing. This morning, I couldn't eat one of the fruits, which was pretty disappointing. I should always check if the fruit is rotten before eating it. Something I could have done to improve could have been to check if the fruit was rotten, first before eating it. If this situation happened again I would take into consideration what I previously experienced and check the fruit is rotten before eating it. If I find that it is rotten, I would throw it away and pick another one.

Vector and Bitmap Images- Adobe Fireworks
1 What is one of the main differences
between bitmaps and vectors when scaling is applied?
2 What are Auto Shapes, and where can you find them?
3 What is the Pen tool used for?
3 What is the Pen tool used for?
4 What does the Compound Shape tool do?
1 One of the main differences between
bitmaps and vectors when scaling is applied is that in bitmap images, pixels
become increasingly visible; making the image looks pixelated and could end in
loss of image quality. In vectors, there is no loss of image quality.
2 The Auto Shapes are tools that create shapes in preset orientations. The Auto Shapes can, at any time be
visually altered. The Auto Shapes are: Arrow,
Arrow Line, Beveled Rectangle, Chamfer Rectangle, Connector Line,
Doughnut, Shape, Measure Tool, Pie, Rounded Rectangle, Smart Polygon, Spiral
and Star.
3 The pen tool is used for creating
paths and selections. It can also be used for creating polygons and curvy
shapes.
4 The Compound Shape can create
multiple vectors and composite paths. It allows to edit single vector objects
such as rectangles or circles to create compound shape, made up of several
vectors or forms.

My Targets
The grade I have achieved so far in ICT is 6+
The grade I am aiming for is 7
The personal targets I am going to set myself in the Second Quimestre so that I can improve my grade are:
-Go over work after finishing.
-Make sure I have my work saved on reliable sources so that I don't loose them later on and have to re-do it.
-Organise my time efficiently so that I don't leave my homework until last. (And have enough time to complete it efficiently)

Cloud Computing
- The CLOUD is a group of services provided to be able to save documents and files via internet. The cloud symbol is used to represent the internet in flowcharts and diagrams.
- Using Cloud computing, you can have access to any file you have done online because they are saved on a remote storage and not locally.
- It can be very advantageous because, by having access to it online, you can open files from any computer and you don't need to download special programs to open it up. On the other hand, in Microsoft Office, you can only open documents locally.
- Anyone can easily access it from anywhere around the world and you can edit one document with a group of up to 15 people at the same, unlike Microsoft Office were you have to create several copies of one file to edit between a group of people.
- However, using Google Docs also has it disadvantages. For instance, if I don't have an internet connection available, there is no way I can use Google Doc, but if I am using Microsoft Office I don't need an internet connection to edit or access my files.
- Also, another reason to why it may not be very advantageous is because to be able to use Google Docs you need a Google account and if someone doesn't have one, they wont be able to access the file.
- In the next 6 months, I plan to use cloud storage when doing group projects it will very useful in helping me communicate with other members of my group and edit one same document at the same time. I may also use it when i want to transfer files from one computer to another, that way I can avoid loosing my flash and therefore my documents.
